Elite Minion Anssi Alkio may be a quiet, unassuming player, but he is also one of the fiercest competitors on the Darkmoon Faire circuit. With a 2009 Worlds Top 8 finish and a win at Darkmoon Faire Amsterdam, the Finnish wunderkind was already having a pretty good season. He'll be a player to watch in the Hero of the Year race considering his past performances this season . . . but it's his bright future that should really have you quaking.
Playing a Lord Benjamin Tremendouson build very similar deck to the one that Tim Rivera piloted to the top of the NACC a mere week ago, Anssi embodied the Darwinian notion of 'adapt or die' this weekend. Most of his opponents wound up doing the latter as he hacked and slashed his way through over 300 players en route to claiming the title. Anssi took only 3 losses over 20 rounds of battle, entering the Top 8 as the second seed and never looking back. If you got an EA Mystic Denial from Anssi whis weekend, well, then you earned it!
